Srinagar: Thirty three more persons tested positive for novel Coronavirus in Kashmir on Thursday, taking the tally of total positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 614.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that among them, 13 were confirmed at Viral Diagnostic Lab of SKIMS Soura and include 11 from Baramulla and one each from Budgam and Shopian districts.
They further added that 20 samples were tested positive from COVID-19 testing laboratory at Chest Disease hospital Dalgate and include 12 from Anantnag district, four from Kulgam and two each from Srinagar and Pulwama.
As per the official data available with the KNO, there are 614 positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir, out of which the number of positive cases in Jammu stands at 58 while as 556 are in Kashmir division.
Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for coronavirus at SKIMS told KNO that out of 594 samples tested on Thursday, 13 were tested positive including 11 from Baramulla, one from Shopian and one from Budgam.
Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for covid-19 at GMC Srinagar told KNO that out of 542 samples tested, 20 were found negative. Among new 20 cases, 12 are from Anantnag, four from Kulgam, 2 each from Srinagar and Pulwama, he said adding that today more 650 samples were received and results of 190 samples are under process.
Officials said that one case is from Hyderpora and another is a 55-year-old man from Rainawari. Officials from Kulgam said that new four cases include 75 year old man and his 30 year old son from Chakigund Kulgam, 65 year old lady from sopat and 30 year old lady from Baqbal Kulgam.
Officials from Anantnag said that mong new 12 cases from Anantnag includes 8 from Nowgam, three from Pushroo and one from Hiller Anantnag.
They said that new 12 cases include a 5 year old female child, 32, 42, 55 and 65 year old ladies and 37, 40 and 60 males from Nowgam, 10 year old boy, 13 year old girl and 34 year old lady from Pushroo and 70 year old man from Hiller
Officials from Shopian said new positive case is from Hillow Imamsahib area of the district and so far 1335 samples have been taken from Shopian district, out of 1335, 1178 were tested negative while as 72 were tested negative among them 13 have recovered.
Officials from Pulwama said that husband wife from Drabgam who have a travel history of Saudi Arabia were tested positive for covid-19 on Thursday.
They said that total number of positive cases in district is 07 including three recoveries. Officials from Ganderbal said that all 47 samples including samples of 08 positive patients were tested negative on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Deputy Medical Superintendent JLNM hospital Dr Tabassum told KNO that 20 positive patients after complete recovery were discharged from the hospital on Thursday.
The repeated samples of these 20 patients were tested negative for COVID-19 during the last 48 hours day, he said adding that out of the twenty recovered patients, one was discharged after more than one month as the patient was symptomatic and was already suffering from a chronic kidney disease and had tested repeatedly positive four times before testing negative for COVID-19.
Rest of the patients, she said, were asymptomatic and were discharged after 20 days from the hospital. Among the discharged patients were the 6-year-old twins and their father and total positive patients admitted at JLNM Hospital as on date now stands at 34.
It is pertinent to mention here that despite being negative, mother of 6 year old twins also spend all twenty days at JLNM hospital with their kids.
