Srinagar: A 80-year old woman from Bemina died at Chest Disease hospital on Thursday, his sample testing positive for COVID19 posthumously.
The woman from Usmania Colony Bemina was brought to SMHS hospital on May 19 with bilateral pneumonia and hypertension complaints, Dr Salim Khan nodal officer COVID-19 at GMC Srinagar said.
He said the patient was kept in Isolation Ward and died on May 20 evening.
He added that she was kept in GMC Srinagar mortuary and her COVID-19 test report came today as positive.
Earlier, a 70-year-old woman from Budgam died at the CD hospital.
With his death, the number of casualties due to the novel Coronavirus has reached 20 in J&K. Earlier, 19 patients have died due to COVID-19 including 17 from Kashmir and two from Jammu.
