Srinagar: A police constable who had previously recovered from Covid-19 donated his plasma on Wednesday to help an officer of the rank of KAS fight the deadly infection.
The constable, Syed Zulfikar Ali, who is deployed at Anantnag had volunteered to donate the plasma as soon as the SSP Sandeep Mehta Commandant IRP 11th battalion spread the word within the department about the KAS officer who had been looking for plasma donors as the same was posted by Mr. Aslam, a close friend of the patient on the social media.
Tasaduq Jeelani, KAS, Special Secretary, Social Welfare Deartment who is admitted in ICU of JVC hospital was in immediate need of (O- negative) plasma, Mr. Aslam told KNB on the phone.
“Syed Zulifkar Ali who hails from Boniyar of Baramulla district of north Kashmir has been a life saviour and happily agreed for donating his plasma in order to save the precious life”, he further added.
He also thanked SSP Sandeep Mehta Commandant IRP 11th battalion for coordinating and arranging the donor within hours of the appeal which went viral on the social media.
