Srinagar: Residents of Lasjan, Soiteng, Padshahi Bagh and Mehjoor Nagar Srinagar have complained about the dilapidated condition of road stretch from Lasjan to Padshahi Bagh with authorities failing to undertake the repairing work. The road stretch is full of potholes causing huge inconvenience to travelers said the residents. The residents allege authorities have failed to macadamize the road during last summer due to the reasons best known to them. The residents appealed that the least that can be done at present is to fill the potholes so that the inconvenience caused to the general public can be avoided. The roads in the area are in shabby condition, and travelling is proving to be a back breaking experience for the travelers and cause damages to the vehicles.
The residents also said that recently PHE department installed new water supply pipes on the sidelines of the main road, but unfortunately the pipes can be seen above the ground causing hindrance in traffic movement.
The residents also said the road stretch has seen a huge rush of vehicular traffic in the last three years as it has become a vital link road for traffic coming from south Kashmir. Traffic authorities are seen diverting traffic from Pantha Chowk via Lasjan-Padshahi Bagh which has added to the vehicular movement in the area. The residents also appealed that authorities shall take the notice of bottlenecks at several points and start road widening in the area.
