Srinagar, Apr 27 (KR Newsdesk): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Qayoom Wani Saturday said that bureaucrats sitting in their Poonam chambers should accept the reality that this Cable Car right from the day when established starting affecting the livelihood of these poor people and the day is not far when these poor labour class will be barred from entering Gulmarg.

“Labour class are the real stakeholders of Gulmarg and the government is trying to minimize the presence of labour class especially Guides, Pony wallas, sledge wallas and local transporters on one pretext or the other,” Wani said in a statement issued to KNS.

He said the management of Tourism department has failed miserably till date for making checks and balances on the sale of tickets and wants now to break the backbone of poor labour class for none of their faults by making tickets available online.

“These poor labour class people get their customers (Tourists) only when they stand in the long queues and get tickets from the counters for them just to make their tourists feel comfortable,” he said.

Wani said that the people of Gulmarg especially the labour class and the local students should get concessions in cable car and should be exempted from the toll tax while visiting to Gulmarg.

He urged upon the authorities not to suppress the voice of labour class and should revoke the order of E-Ticketing of Cable car.

PDP leader said that it is only labour class of Gulmarg who have put their sweat and Blood for making Gulmarg internationally famous by providing honest services, love, affection and proper guidance to the tourists.

Wani assured full support to the labour class of Gulmarg and warned the authorities not to test the patience of labour class of Gulmarg.
