Srinagar, July 24, CNS: A day after National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided the house of two businessmen involved in cross Line of Control (LoC) trade in Pulwama and Srinagar districts, NIA Sleuths on Wednesday carried out raids at the premises of a Budgam resident on Wednesday.
Sources said that on Wednesday afternoon NIA raided the house of Mohammed Afzal Mir son of Ali Mohammed Mir at Aripanthan village in Central Kashmir’s Budgam District.
They said that the NIA team reached the house of Mohammed Afzal Mir at about 2 PM, who is a Contractual Lecturer by profession and conducted searches inside his house. Mir is presently posted at Higher Secondary School Beerwah. Sources said that a laptop and a mobile phone was seized from here
The Senior Superintendent of Jammu Kashmir Police for Budgam District Amod Nagpuri, while confirming the raid said, “Yes, a raid was conducted on the house of Mohammed Afzal Mir at Arinpanthan Budgam”.
Meanwhile, the agency raided another house in Kursoo Rajbah locality of Srinagar and enquired about the whereabouts of a relative of the family namely Bakhtiar Majid Malla S/O Abdul Majid Malla R/O Tral Pulwama, who was temporarily putting up at the said house and is taking coaching classes in Srinagar For NEET.
According to sources Bakhtiar was arrested in 2017 at Wagah Border and was later released.
The raids are part of the ongoing NIA investigation against suspected terror funding. (CNS)
