Srinagar, Apr 14, KNT: Husband wife duo tested positive for Covid-19 allegedly ransacked the hospital with the help of their relatives after they refused to accept the hospital tests in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Chief Medical Officer Kulgam, Dr Fazil Kochik told KNT that husband, wife duo were admitted at District Hospital Kulgam where they were tested positive for Covid-19. Ironically, the couple termed the report fabricated and with the help of their relatives ransacked the hospital, forcing police to intervene.
CMO further said that the husband was already declared positive while on Monday late evening the test of wife too was found positive.
He said the couple created ruckus in the Kulgam District Hospital. The couple lives adjacent to the hospital, broke even window panes, prompting us to contact police. With the help of the police they were shifted to JLNM Rainawari Hospital in an ambulance.
Nodal Officer for Coronavirus at JLNM Rainawari Hospital, Dr Bilques told KNT that the couple refused to come down from the ambulance and created ruckus again. Finally, with the help of police and JLNM Hospital staff, they were evacuated from the ambulance and shifted to isolation wards.
“They are basically upset and we have to understand their mental level. They are asymptomatic and believe that they are Coronavirus free. We have to treat them affectionately,” she said.
Meanwhile, JLNM Rainawari Hospital received two more positive patients on Tuesday afternoon. Both these patients are females and were quarantined in Zakura area.
JLNM has 25 Covid-19 patients who are admitted in isolation wards. Yesterday, two little sisters were discharged after they were test negative. (KNT)
