Srinagar: BJP’s Kashmir Unit on Sunday extended greetings on beginning of holy month of Ramdhan and urged people to pray indoors and follow government advisories to combat the spread of Coronavirus.
Party’s media-in-charge and senior leader Manzoor Bhat in a statement said Ramdhan is the month of patience and tolerance and we should pray indoors as it is safety of everyone.
“On behalf of party unit, I extend warm greetings of Ramdhan to people of Kashmir and hopes that it would bring peace and prosperity across the region,” he said.
Bhat stressed that there is a need for social distancing and people should avoid any sort of gatherings as conveyed by Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi in his lockdown speech.
“Due to the prevailing situation, whole world has been engulfed by a deadly virus. It is need of the hour to follow government advisories with zeal and dedication,” he said.
As per Bhat people should keep themselves and their families safe by praying inside their home in Ramdhan to contain the spread of view of coronavirus pandemic.
“During prevailing coronavirus crisis, Ramdhan teaches us compassion and generosity. We should also appreciate and recognize the work of Police, health workers, and sanitation, who are risking their lives for our future,” he said.
Bhat also urged the Governor led administration to provide uninterrupted power supply, ration, and other supplies, so that people would not suffer in the holly month.
“We are thankful to administration as they have evacuated stranded patients and students from several parts of the country. It is a welcome step as they are stranded due to the coronavirus lockdown,” he said.
