Kulgam: Around 320 stranded Kashmiri laborers of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district were brought from Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday and have been kept in home quarantine, officials said.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), around 320 laborers who were stuck in Himachal Pradesh after countrywide lockdown was enforced, were evacuated and brought to home. These belong to several parts of Kulgam including Bangiward, Avil, Manzgam, Yadikhah, CR Pora and adjoining areas and have been kept in home quarantine now.
“The laborers were brought to Valley in seven SRTC buses and have been kept under home quarantine”, official said.
He said, after checking their travel history by authorities, they were allowed to walk home on conditional basis where they remain quarantined for two weeks onwards.
At the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sub-Divisional Magistrate and other senior functionaries of district administration visited the concerned villages and asked villagers to take precautionary measures for keeping Covid-19 pandemic away.
