Baramulla: With an aim to take the appraisal of various ongoing developmental projects amid COVID-19 scare, District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today chaired a meeting of concerned officers here at dak bungalow where he took review of the pace and position of various ongoing developmental and other languishing projects in the district. The meeting also took an appraisal of physical and financial achievements made under annual district Capex Budget plan.
Meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning, SE R&B, ACD, CHO, district and sectoral officers and other concerned.
On the ocassion, a threadbare discussion with regard to the progress of various developmental projects undertaken in Rural Development, education, health and other sectors, was held wherein DDC stressed for ensuring that all the undertaken projects are not affected due to present circumstances. He also directed to keep in consideration all the requisite health advisories and emphasized for accelerating the pace of work so that desired results are achieved within a time bound manner.
Dr Itoo also reviews the progress of works under the languishing projects scheme during which he was briefed by the concerned heads about the same. He exhorted for mobilizing additional men and machinery for completing the projects in stipulated timeframe besides exhorted to ensure productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources.
Later the DC chaired a separate meeting with the Executive Officers and other functionaries of municipalities to review the functioning of MCs in the wake of prevailing circumstances emerged due to COVID-19 outbreak.
DC directed the concerned authorities to ensure proper sanitation in and around the vital locations besides terming hygiene important for containing the virus. He also stressed for undertaking massive fumigation drives and assured every possible support in this regard. Moreover, DC directed to extend the range of operation and include rural areas adjoining to urban centers with the support from rural development department.
