Srinagar: The Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu led government Wednesday asked local youth who have joined militant ranks in Jammu and Kashmir to “shun the path of violence saying this would not let them live long”.
“Our security forces are doing commendable job while fighting with the militancy in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The operation against militants will be intensified in days to come. But yes I appeal youth who have chosen the wrong path to come back,” Farooq Khan, Advisor to L-G, Murmu told news agency KINS over phone.
He said that if they will leave the path of violence, the government will treat them in a good manner. “If they continued the violence, the only option left is to neutralise them.” Khan said and added that the action will be taken against those engaged in radicalizing the innocent youth.
However the advisor made it clear that the forces will continue their operations against militants. “Our security forces have achieved great success against the militants and in the coming day’s they will intensify the operations,” he said.
Khan further told KINS that parents must tell their children that life is about living and not dying. “Local youth indulging in violence may not realise it now, but down the line they will repent for choosing the wrong path” he said.
He appreciated the role of police and other security agencies for conducting successful ‘anti-militancy operations’ in the last few months amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I also appreciate the role of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and security forces in combating the spread of COVID-l9,” he said.
The Advsior also complemented the administration for putting a robust mechanism in place for fighting the COVID-19 outbreak and augmenting best possible infrastructure amid the healthcare crisis.
Advisor also lauded the efforts of the frontline health workers, security forces and the staff of essential services and appealed to the general public to complement the efforts of the government and cooperate in breaking the chain.
