Srinagar: State Football Academy J&K State Sports Council U-15 team secured three points of with an emphatic 1-0 win over Real Kashmir here at Artificial Turf TRC.
The ultimate game of the group which also featured the likes of Lonestar Kashmir FC, Param FC from Jammu went down the wire and with this game being the decider as for SFA a win would let them qualify and for Real even a draw would work.
The match started neck and neck with both teams trying to get over each other but both defences stood tall and kept strikers at bay. The second half saw SFA press from early on and persisted by creating chances and eventually it paid off as Farjaad from SFA latched onto a ball in the box and slotted past the keeper to give SFA the lead. SFA boys rallied over to keep the lead safe as a great team effort kept the score line 1-0 in favour OF SFA.
With this win SFA topped the pool and has qualified for the final round 1 of the AIFF HERO U-15 Junior I-League which is scheduled to be held at Goa next week reportedly.
Secretary J&K State Sports Council Dr. Naseem Javaid Chaudhary congratulated the entire team and management for this win and wished them all the luck in the final round matches at Goa.
